Technology investments in air transport often underdeliver because they are built on top of engrained legacy identifiers and suffer from the limitations of infrastructures designed in the 80s. Even today, it is common to see the latest tech bolted on top of legacy two-character codes used to identify partner airlines, and generating new TELETYPE traffic over the Type B network.

Why I Have the Capacity to Help ?
At IATA and SITA, I worked with industry leaders and internet pioneers to explore how the industry can move toward secure and scalable solutions. While no end date has been set for the Type B network, the transition is underway. The industry has already established standards enabling passengers and business partners to benefit from modern, privacy-preserving digital identity technologies with internet-ready identifiers. Additionally, services are available on the market to bridge legacy infrastructure with modern, cryptographically secure communication methods.
